Pre-Conference Thursday dinner in Seattle

“You are welcome to come to a meeting in Seattle at Ivar’s Salmon House from 7pm to 9pm on the Thursday prior to the meeting in Corvallis. Włodek says that Sam Kim (Technical Manager of HP calculators) and Richard Nelson (main organizer of our Conferences) will be there, and other HP calcs geeks will also attend. Upcoming calculator products will be one of the interesting topics of discussion. If you wish to come, please send an email to me to the effect that you will attend so that we can make the reservation knowing how many will be coming. Thanks in advance!”

Pre-Conference Friday Stuffing Party & Dinner

On the day before the conference (Friday, September 26), there is an unofficial event called “The Stuffing Party”. There is also an informal “Pub Night” for all the conference attendees who arrive in time for it; see the following invitation:

“HPCC, the British HP calculator club, invites everyone attending HHC2008 to a meeting at McMenamin’s English pub in Corvallis, on the Friday night before HHC2008, from 7pm to 9pm.

“HPCC holds most of its meetings in London, England, but has members all round the world. This meeting will give members and friends who live far from London, especially those in the United States, a chance to attend a real HPCC get-together, in a British style location.”

Post-Conference Monday Breakfast & Lunch

On the day after the conference (Monday, September 29), there is an unofficial group breakfast in Corvallis, at which late-departing attendees chat about the conference, ideas for next year’s conference, and personal hobbies. The time and location of this post-conference breakfast are announced at the end of the conference.

For those departing from Portland airport (PDX) on Monday, there will be an informal gathering at Powell’s City of Books for lunch at their very nice coffee shop at 1:00 PM. Join us for lunch and for the fun of exploring the world’s largest bookstore!
