Wright 1972 is fondly remembered as the year that Hewlett Packard introduced to a stunned world the very first scientific calculator that could fit into a shirt pocket. It was widely considered to be a modern miracle. Students and engineers coveted them... spent their inheritance to buy one... and rocketed to the top of their classes and fields wielding this awesome power tool. Remember those days? Revisit them, and learn TONS of cool info that you never knew about HP calculators, in the delightful, thoroughly researched book, Guide to HP Handheld Calculators and Computers. Wlodek Mier-Jedrzejowicz and Guy Ball have updated this famous HP calculator Guide to be discussed (and possibly available) at the conference with a brand-new edition. The photo above is from the cover of that book (used with permission). How many different versions of the HP-35 were there? Which version is pictured here? How much is a good-condition HP-35 worth today? All that and more awaits you in the book! |
